The Choice for Cambie

The plan for post-Canada Line service on Cambie Street being proposed by TransLink is the continued use of 40-foot Diesel buses, as is occurring currently during construction. This will mean Cambie corridor residents will continue to have noisy, polluting Diesel buses accelerating up this steep hill every day, all day and all night.
Diesels are slower to accelerate on a hill, meaning commute times will be longer, traffic on this busy corridor will be further impeded, and costs will be higher due to increased running time needed by transit vehicles.
Trolleys would provide clean, silent transit service on this street as they have done for almost 60 years. It would also provide better utilization of TransLink's new fleet of trolleys.
The questions residents must ask themselves is: Would you prefer diesel or trolley buses on Cambie Street, all day, and all night, every day? Please tell TransLink and Vancouver City Council your answer.
